Are you in search of homes for sale or other real estate opportunities in Beaumont? Here’s what you need to know.

About Beaumont

Beaumont is a smaller city located in eastern Leduc County, just 6 km east of the City of Leduc. Though Beaumont was not incorporated as a city until 2019, its roots date back to 1895, when it began as an early French Colony. With just 30 acres of land (former Hudson’s Bay Company territory), a small group of farmers established the “Campagne du Mouline de Beaumont Limitee” (Harvest Company of Beaumont Ltd.), which would spur much of the hamlet’s growth in the years to come.

Over the last 50 years, Beaumont has flourished, achieving village status in 1973, town status in 1980 and, finally, city status in early 2019. What began as just a few parcels of farmland 130 years ago has developed into a thriving community of more than 20,000 people – making Beaumont one of the fastest-growing areas in Canada.

Aptly named, Beaumont means “beautiful hill” in reference to the hill where St. Vital Church is located. The church, built-in 1919, is considered the city’s most recognizable landmark, serving as a staple in the community since it was first established.
