McCauley was first established in the early 1900s, with residential development taking off due to the expanding streetcar line. Though significant redevelopment has occurred over the years, the community still houses several renovated character homes, many of which are over 100 years old. McCauley Schools

While there are no schools located in McCauley proper, several schools can be found within walking distance. The community’s former elementary school has also been converted into a daycare and after-school care centre, offering affordable childcare options for local families. In addition, McCauley makes a convenient choice for post-secondary students attending NAIT and Grant MacEwan University – both located within a 5-minute drive of the neighbourhood.

Easy Access to Downtown Edmonton

McCauley is an oddly shaped neighbourhood defined by 101st Street to the west, 111th Ave to the north, the Capital LRT line to the east, and 105th Ave to the south. As we already mentioned, it is also the ideal neighbourhood for those working in the downtown core. With the Stadium LRT station located in the community’s far northeast corner, residents can reach city centre via transit in a matter of minutes. And, with the expansion of both the Capital and Metro LRT lines, locals can soon look forward to accessing every corner of the city quickly and conveniently. McCauley also boats an above-average walk score, meaning most errands can be accomplished on foot or by bike.
