Montrose is an established all-in-one community offering a near-perfect blend of home styles, desirable commercial amenities and open green space. Home to Edmonton’s famed Northlands Coliseum, this highly accessible Northeast Edmonton neighbourhood is known for its affordable residential real estate and proximity to celebrated Edmonton amenities – including the North Saskatchewan River Valley, Edmonton Northlands and the many shops and services of the vibrant downtown core.

Did you know? Formerly known as the Edmonton Exhibition Association, Edmonton Northlands was formed in 1879. Operating as both an agricultural society and commissioner of local events, Northlands opened the Northlands Coliseum (Rexall Place) in 1974. Unfortunately, the iconic building (and former home of the Edmonton Oilers) was closed on January 1st, 2018.

Commuting From Northeast Edmonton 

Montrose is bounded by the Capital LRT line to the west, Yellowhead Trail to the north, 58th Street to the east and 118th Ave to the south. The community’s west end is also bisected by Wayne Gretzky Drive (Fort Road), providing residents with a streamlined commute to South Edmonton. The east leg of the Anthony Henday and 97th Street (Hwy 2) are also located just a few minutes’ drive from the area.

Thanks to the nearby LRT corridor and Coliseum Transit Centre, transit opportunities within Montrose are incredibly convenient, including the many bus stops and routes that define 118th Ave. 

Did you know? Edmonton’s Capital LRT line expansion will see a 4.5 km southwards track extension from Century Park to Ellerslie Road. As a result, Montrose residents will soon be able to access nearly all corners of the city via light rail transit.
