Although the neighbourhood was first established in the late 1980s and early 1990s, development in Chambery didn’t really take off until the 2000s, with new home construction continuing today. Getting From Here to There 

Defined by open green spaces to both the west and north, Chambery strikes the perfect balance between peaceful prairie setting and accessible amenities. The community is bisected by one major thoroughfare, 176th Ave, which connects with adjoining 97th Street. From here, Chambery residents can access the north Anthony Henday, 153rd Ave, 137th Ave and the Yellowhead Highway. 97th Street also provides a streamlined commute to downtown Edmonton, which can be reached in 20-minutes.

Like the community itself, transit development in Chambery is still ongoing, however, there are several bus stops located along 176th Ave. Two major transit centres (Castle Downs and Eaux Claires) can be found a few minutes away and Edmonton’s future Metro LRT line expansion will also improve accessibility to the area.
