Edmonton Community Spotlight: Rapperswill (Newcastle) in Northwest Edmonton
May 12, 2021 7:00 amRapperswill is a new Northwest Edmonton community well regarded for its beautiful modern homes and family-friendly setting. Characterized by stormwater lakes, walking paths, vast open green spaces, and close proximity to shops and services, this highly desirable neighbourhood strikes a perfect balance between a quiet rural atmosphere and modern amenities.
Did you know? Although Rapperswill is the neighbourhood’s official name as per the City of Edmonton, a local developer dubbed the area “Newcastle,” a name which has since increased in popularity. As such, the community goes by either title, depending on who you ask.
Rapperswill Real Estate and Homes For Sale
First established in 2010, development in Rapperswill is still ongoing. Real estate opportunities in the area consist predominantly of new single-family homes built after 2011. These homes feature large lots, open floor plans and the modern features contemporary buyers have come to expect from a new construction home (i.e. high ceilings, spa-like ensuites, ample storage space, chef-inspired kitchens, and more). Rapperswill single-family models include both convenient front-attached homes and eye-catching laned properties.
As Rapperswill continues to develop, townhomes and duplexes are becoming increasingly popular. Starting in the low 300s, these attached and semi-detached models have broadened the neighbourhood’s appeal for first-time buyers, downsizers and growing families looking for an affordable new home.
Overall, Rapperswill’s high-end home features combined with affordable pricing allows Edmonton home buyers to enjoy exceptional value for their dollar!
