Edmonton Community Spotlight: Pleasantview Featured Image

Beautifully mature, easily accessible and extremely amenity-friendly, the Southwest Edmonton community of Pleasantview became part of the greater City of Edmonton in the early 1900s. Despite its established status, the area did not undergo significant development until after the Second World War, where much of the land was sold to Canadian soldiers returning from overseas (under the Veteran’s Land Act).

As a result of its diverse real estate opportunities and excellent location, Pleasantview has rapidly become one of south side Edmonton’s most popular neighbourhoods.

Pleasantview Properties For Sale

As we mentioned above, Pleasantview is home to a diverse range of home styles, suited to nearly every lifestyle, taste and budget.

According to the City of Edmonton, single-family homes account for just under half of all residences, with one in five homes constructed just after WWII. The majority of other single-family homes in the area were built in the 1960s and 1970s. However, the community is now seeing an influx of modern infill homes, thanks to its excellent location. As a result, Edmonton home buyers have their choice of everything from older (upgraded) bungalows on oversized lots to contemporary, two-story infill properties outfitted with the lasted features (and everything in between).

The remaining half of Pleasantview residences consist firstly of affordable, apartment-style condos (both high and low-rise), followed by low-maintenance townhomes and spacious duplexes, all of which can be found scattered throughout this one-of-a-kind neighbourhood.

Did you know? Pleasantview has been chosen for renewal via the City of Edmonton’s Building Great Neighbourhoods program. This initiative is geared towards improving neighbourhood experiences via renewed roads, sidewalks, parks, green spaces and other revitalized community opportunities.
