Welcome to beautiful Belgravia! After serving as the southern terminus for the Edmonton Radial Railway (a streetcar service operating from 1908 to 1951), this historic neighbourhood was officially converted for residential use in 1912. Characterized by mature trees, open green spaces, easy walkability and scenic river valley views, Belgravia offers a diverse range of home styles in a quiet, family-friendly setting.

Belgravia Home Styles

Belgravia is best known for its single-family homes. With most residences built before the early 1960s, the community houses mainly bungalows, semi-bungalows and two-storey character homes – many of which have been upgraded to include modern amenities. While the neighbourhood does offer several contemporary infill options and apartment-style condos, if you’re searching for an older, renovated single-family home, you need look no further than Belgravia.

Local Shops and Services

Thanks to its highly desirable location to the southwest of Whyte Ave, Belgravia residents have access to the very best shops, services, grocers (No Frills, Save on Foods and the Old Strathcona Famer’s Market) restaurants, pubs, retailers and more – all within walking distance! A further selection of box stores, retailers and services can be found a few minutes’ drive to the south at Edmonton’s Southgate Centre.

Accessible Schools

Belgravia is home to a centrally located K-6 public school (Belgravia School) and park site. Other schooling options can be found just a short distance away in the surrounding communities.

Commuting is Easy

Bounded by the river valley and ravine system to both the east and south (Belgravia Road), University Ave to the north, and 114th Street to the east, Belgravia remains semi-isolated yet highly accessible. Residents here can reach the downtown core, Anthony Henday and Whitemud Drive in under 15-minutes, while those relying on transit enjoy having convenient access to the McKernan/Belgravia LRT station.

Parks, Green Space and Recreation

As we mentioned, Belgravia is flanked by the North Saskatchewan river valley and ravine. An outdoor lover’s delight, the neighbourhood is littered with bike paths and walking trails and features an off-leash dog park to both the north (Hawrelak Park) and south. Locally, Belgravia hosts an active community league featuring several family-friendly programs such as playschool, arts and crafts, walking club, yoga and more. Nearby recreation centres include the Kinsmen Recreation Centre and Jasper Place Fitness and Leisure Centre.
